Any experience/opinion from any member on the Daiwa Crossfire rod for baitcasters?
Any experience from any member on the Berkley Cherrywood rod for baitcasters?

I grabbed one of each from Sports Academy when they were on special last Autumn, but haven't really used them yet.

I bought one of the Daiwa Crossfire baitcast rods last year for $19.99 in a two piece rod so I could keep it in the trunk of my car and I would say it's good for the money. It's more sensitive than I would have thought. I've caught several fish mainly bass on it with no problems. It's nice to have it in the car trunk so it's always ready.

I don't have any of the Cherrywood baitcast rods but do have several of the spinning models, some I've had for several years and they've been good rods. I would say the Cherrywoods are little better rod than the Crossfire.

Thanks for the reply...upon further reviewing online, I've learned most people prefer the Cherrywood.

I will end up using the Daiwa for light tackle...probably get an H20 Ethos for my baitcaster.

That sounds like a good plan. I may have to give the H20 Ethos a try myself. Looks like a good rod for the money.

Yep, deciding between micro and regular guides on the H20 Ethos, probably regular, and the Crossfire Daiwa will probably be used for a simple crappie rig, old Century spincast with 6 or 8 lb. We'll see...I'm trying to use what I have instead of continually buying more. I've got the "spend" bug again.

Cherrywoods are decent rods for the money. I prefer lightning rods myself, but have a few Cherrywoods that have given good service.

I fished cherrywoods forever. Dependable? you bet your butt they are. Sensitive? A little and the guides mainly the top one would start fraying line which was my only concern about anything faulty. Ianded many of 5+ lb bass on them some I evem swung in the boat.

I had a Spinning Cherrywood for 4 years but it just broke on a hookset yesterday. For the money it was a great rod. I'm going to grab a Lightning Rod this week to replace it.
