What time of year do the lily pads start to pay off at Williams, Mustang, Little Mustang, and the cove between White Oak and 515? "Cabin fever" is getting to me, and I'm lookin' to do some froggin'.

I'm sure the pad master, Mark Perry, will respond at some point. There is no-one better with a frog on that lake.

Photo, I fear pads at Lake Fork will be scarce this summer. You may have to get your frog on at either Lake O' Pines or Lone Star (Ellison Reservoir). Either lake will have abundant pads and in close proximity for that nifty bass boat of yours.....

June or so and there will be plenty and they will hold fish too. My biggest fish last year was over 10lbs and came on a frog just on the pad edges in August. Caught a ton of frog and flipping fish in the pads. Just remember its not always about just fishing pads its more about the bottom around the pads.

Water lilies any time, any where.... Black Bayou Lake, Monroe Louisiana... Late 1970s.. spoons, red Ambassador 5000s, 25# monofiliment. We lost as many as we caught... I think the limit then was 15 fish each.. I remember we ran out of spoons, left the lake and went to Gibson's Wholesale and bought more spoons (timber something or other) and went back. As Archie Bunker sang, "Those were the days"...
