www.jigs4bass has some pretty good ones about as hard core as I can find.
Some of those medic033 look pretty sturdy as well.

Depends on what you consider heavy duty, Dr... When I started making mine, it was because I wanted the strongest out there. I use braid most of the time, and I had various issues with the ones I had used. Snaps breaking, blades breaking, hooks bending....

Nasty's Thumper has the strongest hook, in terms of wire diameter, that I can find. It's a Gamakatsu, so it's also sharp and reliable. I use mine on Fork all the time and I throw it on 50 pound braid most of the time, and I have yet to bend one or have one bend while fishing. I use a stainless steel split ring, and I've yet to have any miscues with that or with the snap I'm using. We've caught catfish on them before, no problems. Wish I could hook into a 13+ and get to put it to the real test roflmao Knowing you though, Dr., that has a much better chance of happening with one on the end of your line.

I think I wil make some of my own like you guys are saying and use that big flippin hook. And Alex, I am going to APT later today if I can. I think you have some of your Finchnasty chatterbaits there- if so I'll pick up a few of those. I have really used these very little and I need to get better. I want to use them basically like a squarebill banging it through cover. Hope that works. One thing I have seen and heard is that you lose a few more fish on these baits- I hope that's not too true. I'm throwing a ketech swimbait trailer on there but I don't want it to be too bulky and interfere with hookups. That proluresonline site looks good for components.

Not meaning to hi-jack the thread but where might I find a black blade to swap out on a z-man? I haven't seen one that comes with any other color but silver.

I think Joey had to stop making them due to Patent Infringement. Many others have had to do the same. It's a shame though because they were providing a quality product.
