i have a group of 6 that want to do a 12hr offshore trip this summer. Any recommendations on a charter. we are open as to which port to go out of, located here in Texas.

The best time for the trip your looking for is early august. Amberjack season will close June 1 and reopen on August 1. Season ran till August 24 last year. Season may be longer or shorter this year.Season will be longer if they raise the min. length limit.One of the main reasons August would be best is the weather is usually best in August especially when compared to January-May, also the shrimp boats start running July 15 so that gives you another fishing opportunity out there in August.
