I caught a couple bass here in Autumn of 2013, but have not been back. Any of you near Richardson try it lately? It's a few blocks from Lookout Drive/Jupiter, or a few blocks from Renner/Bush 190 area. Addendum: If you know it, would you happen to know some depths? ...------

That pond is on my list to look into. I haven't fished it yet but it looks really good. I know the TPWD stocked it with catfish, but I don't know about bass.

In using catfish baits, (1 or 2 times) during that same period I was last there, the little perch/sunfish/whatever they are ate the baits immediately up hitting the water. I may watch some catfish/weiner/rigging videos and try my hand again at the cat-fishing. If it's been stocked, that's great!
There are some bass in there, but to what degree, who knows.

I fished there in the summer of 2013 as well I only tried plastic worms but I never caught any bass. I think I got a bite once but it might have just been a sunfish. I did catch the smallest channel catfish I ever caught at that pond though. Its a very small pond, the water was dyed a very dark blue when I fished it back then. The only fish I really saw for certain in abundance were sunfish. Neat little place though with the little water fall next to that huge deck.

I fished it one day last summer. I caught a couple of little bass (less than 8 inches) on crappie jigs. I had a few sunfish bites, as well - but they were likely very small and I didn't manage to get a hook in them. I have no idea of the depth of the pond. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there are a few bass in the there that go 1-2 lbs...but would be pretty surprised if there was anything bigger. I had fun the one day I went, and plan on doing so again sometime.

I will get a pic posted tonight when i get home to my computer but i fly fish this pond multiply times a week, i live a few blocks from the park. There are about 4 really nice 1-2 lb plus bass and about 6 or 7 very large Koi. The large bass are very hard to catch as this pond is frequented by a lot of fisherman and kids throwing anything and everything to catch something. As for the depth, i have no idea how deep the center portion of the pond is but most of the water from the retaining wall is only about 3 to 5 feet because you can see the bottom pretty clearly when the water is not muddied up (i poke my 8ft 3wt around the water when i was fishing). oh and i have caught an oscar fish that was about 10 inches last spring but havent seen it since.

Any pictures that you could provide MR2 David would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to give it a go sometime to try for the bass. I'm curious about the Oscar fish... Are you sure it wasn't a Tilapia? They look similar and wouldn't surprise me to find one in there.

I've seen a few Dads/sons fishing there before, a few young girls, but no real anglers that I would guess are from this forum. I live about 4 blocks from there as well!
Addendum: If you see someone with long hair, a bike behind him, or a red F150 regular cab parked by the curb, chances are it's IN65/joe, in my 40s but don't act or quite look it. At least I hope so.

This one was by the water fall, between a bunch of sunken brush. Had my drag screaming towards the middle of the pond then tried to get under the dock. my rod is a 6 piece with sections being just under 18 inches so you have an idea of how big. I catch a few this size on the side directly across the deck, under the big trees. always have some luck casting parallel with the retaining wall towards the playground.

This place has been on my list also, but I'm not in the area often. It's good to know there are some bass in there. Has anyone caught any bass at Huffhines park in Richardson?

Only things i have ever caught trying to fish Huffhines was a few bluegills and snagged a very large snapping turtle. Oh and there are a lot of pesky turtles in Crowley as well. There is actually a couple private ponds around Crowley that have some nice bass but fish at your own risk... ive never had a problem but then again when asked do i live there; why yes, yes i do is my reply.

I was taking jiu jitsu at the Huffines Rec Center in the Spring of 2013, and asked a couple of other students about fishing at the Huffhines Creek pond, they recommended following the water down a few blocks to the Yale/FinchDr/Hidden Drive areas, there are some overpasses with grassy fishing underneath. I didn't try those bridges at the time, but did try the Huffines pond...no luck back then.

The creek that runs thru Richardson has some big bass in it my nephew and I go just about every other weekend in the spring and we have got some really beautiful bass, also has some really big carp and we caught a tiny catfish so they are in there also.
