Maybe fish finders should give you the day length instead of the water temp...

so when that guy Alton says its just about the daylight then he is wrong? and Todd from Oklahoma is wrong when he said it as well ? WOW silly me thought the pro anglers would know I think the single most important factor is length of daylight just like them fellas if not please explain how it is they spawn up north on ice out ? water temps are WAY below what the posters here say to look for .... Was wondering if anybody knows why the fish are already up shallow spawning on Falcon but they're not on Fork, LOP, Tawakoni? Also wondered why fish spawn on the upper end of the lake about a month before they spawn on the lower end of the same lake. Guess they got a lot longer days down in South TX than they do in North TX. And the upper end of the lake gets a longer day than the lower end.

Should kept my mouth shut, giving a free education to someone who knows everything is pointless. Yet he still won't answer my question on how crappie regulate their body temp.

It's perpendicular to longitude. Farther south you go the longer the daylight hours.

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

It's perpendicular to longitude. Farther south you go the longer the daylight hours. True, but as the earth tilts, the daylight hours actually get longer in N TX than S TX. The hours of daylight are equal on March 21. Right now there is 9 minutes difference. Amazing how much difference 9 minutes can make in a crappie's spawn cycle.

You would think a bank & bridge fisherman would know that.

I've been working alot. My winter spots haven't been that great this year so I can't wait till spring. It kinda stinks but hey, that's crappie fishin. I really need these lakes to catch some water. Weatherford is almost 9 ft low. That paired with up and down water temp has made it tuff for me.

Now I am confused reading all this stuff. I just go when I have the time - which is during the day most of the time.
I can't see at night very well and the last time I did go at night with the floating light, I found lots of snakes trying to steal my minnows from the bucket! So, haven't been night fishing since then!
