Fished it for an hour yesterday...caught 2 fish and had one other bite. Big fish was 2.5-3lbs.

Great...those bass are worth the convenience of that little park. Nice weather does bring a lot of lines in the water. Yesterday must have been fun!

it's too small for more than 1-2 people to fish at all....I probably wont go there often just because I can cast all the way across.....

Nice if you live across the street but if you drive to it and there are people fishing, it's just not worth it.

Plenty of nice bass and catfish. Blues and channels. Caught several channels up to 5lbs and a few blues between 5-10lbs. Biggest bass so far was about 4lbs. Even caught a couple koi/goldfish fishing for bluegill. The trick is using small baits and the lightest line you feel comfortable with.

Is that last entry from recent experience? I hope, and it sounds inviting!
I'll give it a go soon.

I stopped by the park with Kim yesterday, Sunday, about 5 pm, not to fish, but to hang out and enjoy the day for a bit. There were a few people fishing and I met Mike (MelvinTexas, or MelvingTx, or Melvintx) I could not find his username in the forum, but he did say he rarely posts, but is a forum member. While talking he caught a couple of small bass on a worm, and over by the small, corner waterfall was a very large largemouth, just sitting, lurking, but doing nothing except staying away from the middle of the pond and the noise. There were lots of people there, and one family that constantly threw an entire loaf of bread in the water. The 3 ducks and small fish barely ate any, bu they kept throwing. I think they were "India-Indian," and I did not feel the desire to point out that the pond was getting too much bread that was not being eaten. Let's see 5 women and two small kids, would you have said something?

Skunked today at a quick lunch-time trip...just around an hour, used an H20 Maxim on a Berkley Cherrywood, lizard and sunfish bait, and no go for IN65 today. I'll try again...

Addendum: I did see at least 3 large bass just offshore while I was there, but couldn't get them to bite, nor anything out in the middle of the pond. It must have been all the noise the ducks and turtles were making!

Yes, I know...trying to stir them up so they bite out of aggression, or something like that. Thanks!

I work in Richardson so I'll have to give this place a shot since Bethany Lakes, where i usually fish, gets such heavy pressure during the spring and early summer.

Mckinney this place is so small you can cast across it. Just so you know. If you live in Richardson you should check out breckenridge Park....solid fishing, especially this time of year

Thanks. Breckinridge is another place I have been meaning to hit up for two years now but keep finding reasons not to go. Definitely will be out there in the near future.
