After looking at Doug's picture at the top of this thread, I'm thinking I need to switch to a Hummingbird unit.

My Eagle and Low have never given me this much info.

I'm interested in which model this was from.

These are from Mike Bucca and he has a 997c and 1197c. With the readouts on the left it has to be from his 997c Humminbird.

I can still see more on my $80 cuda. Than my $1000 798.

Frustrating. Especially when I get home, look at recordings and see schooling fish. But nothing while on the water.

I'll try the fish ID thing.

Since this thread was resurrected from 2010, I'll add another benefit of the FishID.
It will show fish within cover.
I scan this tree everytime I am on this lake and when I see the symbols, I stop to fish it, if I do not see any symbols, I keep on going.
I caught all three of these bass plus some smaller ones that did not meet the FishID criteria to be assigned the symbols.

another benefit is you can somewhat size the fish, and eliminate certain sized and species fish.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
