I've got well over a 100 different species from the same boat (kayak) over the last 13 years. Lived in south Florida for many years and it might be the easiest place in the world to do it with over 250 known saltwater species to inhabit the area at different times of the year.

One of the most unusual to me was a Silky Shark.. its skin feels just like that of a sea trout.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

The top one is a Copper Rockfish. It was only about 12" long. I love the fishing in Washington.

Well I am finally 1 away from 100 different fish. I caught a white perch which is not a crappie but a fish that looks like a white bass without stripes. Now it is time to start putting money away for a trip to Prince Edward Island for a bluefin tuna trip for number 100.

Cool post- thanks for sharing. My favorite catch to date is a 45 pound Rooster Fish caught in 14 inch downpour.

I lost a big rooster in Cabo. I am having shoulder problems and need to start saving money. Those trips are $1200 a day. I need to be in top shape for those big tuna.

Finally caught 100 by accident. I was white bass fishing at night and caught 2 buffalo with a small spoon. I guess next goal starts with 101.

This thread reminds me of those nuts that come around here in February to birdwatch. They got a "life list," they are keeping of every sighting.

Interesting idea, I'd have to go with a lot of memory, but I know this much, in the last month I added striped marlin from Cabo San Lucas as well as King Salmon and pink salmon from Victoria, BC. Unfortunately I left the two species I really wanted to add, roosterfish and halibut, respectively in the ocean for another try. I highly recommend both destinations for fishing and touring.

I'm inspired, gonna make my list too....

I have done Cabo and lost a big rooster fish. Cabo is a lot of fun. I haven't caught any halibut in Washington. It is such a small season. I want to catch a chum and sockeye salmon next.

Way to go and thanks for the idea for a great time waste. I went to tpwd and was able to come up with 102. I did put cast net fish i.e. Shad on the list too. I probably missed some and will end up waking up the wife middle the night when I remember one "golden eye on Texoma 1972"! Lol
