I've been fishing the steps for the past three days. The water looks nice but the fish are not active due to cold water. A few here and there, but nothing to get excited about at this time. It was a warm night last night, I might give it a go this morning and see if I can find a morning bite. Someone had posted that they had luck around 10 am to noon. So I was thinking about checking it out.

I struggle to catch a White Bass greater than 9 inches at this location. Water looks great though.

I went Thursday and did ok. I caught eighteen. Four of those were throwbacks. (under size fish)
Saw several nice stringers leave the the the river. The bite was shallow around the shore line. People fishing with fly rods and waders seem to be doing the best. Good access to the right place where the fish were feeding. The fish are still somewhat sluggish, but they are trying to feed before this weather system hits again. Today might still hold a good bite. I am thinking about going again this afternoon. From my experience, the afternoon bite has produced the best bite.

Wish I could have went out there today, next chance I'll have will be Monday but don't think the fishing will be any good with the cold.

Friday afternoon wasn't worth the trip. How ever, I found three willing to bite. The fish know a change in weather is coming, they have moved back downstream into deeper water. I get hung up a lot in the deeper water, so I try to stay away from it as much as possible. The fish are hugging the bottom and you have to let your jig sink to the bottom before you retreave it. I call this flirting with the bottom. But that's where they are.

A guy caught a bunch of whites this afternoon. Only fall back on this is, only about four or five were keepers. Good news is, he found some nice keeper crappie to go with the whites.
