Well, I just tried the Elm Fork of the Trinity river off of 380, Denton county. Mostly fishing for crappie and hit all the spots I do well on. But not today. So I went to what I call the big bend. And was able to catch one sand bass. 11.5" and threw it back. There was some top water action of Bass and two sightings of beavers in the water today. I want to go again Saturday, but there is a good chance of rain...
Did you see the size of that chicken?!.

Not trying to throw anybody off the trail..but I would be highly suspect that any whites will make it up the elm fork north of lewisville. The run was non existant in that creek last year due to low water as seen in this satelite image dated 2015. As for the top water action.. I know that there are a bunch of gar in there still. LINK who knows, they may be able to make it up a little farther north... but doubtful.

That's strange, no bank fishing. Just a heads up...I tried to go to the nature center today and fish. First, it costs $5.00 to even get in. Second, they do not allow bank fishing, you must be in a boat. I got ran off for trying to bank fish. They gave me the $5.00 back but just trying to save the rest of you from wasting your time! Yes I wish they allowed fishing from the bank too. I would gladly pay $5.00 to fish from the bank in there. can you wade? seems like that could be a loop hole...

I don't remember seeing that many trees with leave on them today. I will check again tomorrow.... And I did see some gar surface today. But who cares about the gar. They don't even taste like chicken!!! Not trying to throw anybody off the trail..but I would be highly suspect that any whites will make it up the elm fork north of lewisville. I've been to the side channel that dumps into Lew from the Elm Fork below 380 a few months back. The rains from this summer dropped a few giant trees blocking the main river channel there. I doubt very many sandbass if any are getting through. The water is just trickling out to the main lake through dozens of smaller shallow side channels.
It's too bad because with the lake at it's current level, we were catching some game fish a year ago.

You can access the same water from the bank at 9 mile bridge rd. It's the clear fork of Trinity that flows from Eagle Mountain to Lake Worth. Good luck.

I actually think that is the west fork of the Trinity ....the Clear Fork originates in west Texas flows in\out of Lake Weatherford then in\out of Benbrook before joining the West Fork just north of downtown FW.
