I live on the north side of the Metroplex area and just curious when anglers that fish around this area (Lewisville, Ray Roberts, Lavon, etc.) start thinking in terms of fishing for "pre-spawn" bass. Any thoughts or observations in general?

Thanks!

I think more than date its the water temp. Ray roberts and lewisville tend be be later than most. Lavan is so shallow so I doubt it takes long to warm up. These lakes are in Pre spawn now in my opinion. Its be warmer. If I had to say a month I would say febuary but again water temp is a bigger factor.

I would say they are pre spawn now... beginning to create the eggs... putting on that winter weight. But as stated b4 water temp is the deciding factor...

depends on water temps, and how long they stay in a certain temp. range to get the big girls moving.

We should start seeing a "pre spawn" but that doesn't mean the fishing a about to get hot. Just fish location changing and they start to fatten up. When the night air temp stays consistently above 45 and a decent day temp things heat up. Bed fishing will really get going the first full moon that the water temps are in the 60's.
Just my experience.

Depends on water temp really. I estimate they wont start coming up in true numbers till mid-late Feb. These recent warming trends have affected them slightly. I'm catching more than I usually would this time of year.
