Went out Sunday north of 103 on the Angelina River. The water is pure mud. I don't think the fish can see it if it was rubbing on their eyes. Weekend calls for more rain. Lots of floating vegetation all over. We caught one between two boats at the 103 bridge. Coworker who fished up the river zeroed.

I drove down to the tram Monday afternoon to check water levels and found that the Angelina is very muddy and still out of it's banks. Made about 25 or so cast in several different spots and nothing. I agree with you that they simply can't see the lure. With the rain this weekend it may be over a week and a half maybe two weeks before things clear up enough and that's if we get no more rain after this weekend.
Also, drove over to Riverridge today to check the Sabine. Pretty much the same thing. Water very muddy and the sandbar is still covered. There were a couple empty trailers parked but I didn't stay around to find out if they did any good. There was no one at the office to ask any questions; they were probably on the river.

Our creeks in North Tex are dry , at least you have something to work with. Tight lines.

Where is Tram? You can PM me if you like. Ive fished mostly the lower half of Sam over the past 20+years, never made it to the north end to wet a line But I had a place next to a couple that guided up that way.

The Tram is an old railroad bed that runs south from Saints Rest Rd. in southern Nacogdoches County. To get there, you take FM 1275 ( Lacyville Rd.)from Loop 224 6 1/2 miles to Saints rest rd. Go 1/2 mile and turn left on the Tram. Follow Tram 3 miles to river. The Tram road was just graded so it should be ok unless it rains a lot this weekend. If that's the case, be careful or you will find yourself in the river bottom. There is a make shift boat ramp there but you better have a 4wheel drive vehicle. There is very limited shoreline access there, enough room for 3 or 4 people. Hope this helps.

That looks like it. The directions posted above will take you directly to it. I lived in Nac some 40 years and Tram was one of my favorite fishing areas. When the water clears somewhat the Sandbass should be in it there. I wouldn't put any boat in there other than a flat bottom Jon. And, if you take a boat and go out to the river, be careful, there are no road signs there. But, you will find some good fishing.

You have hit the jackpot my friend! That is exactly the spot. Like Eastexn said, you better be careful. Nothing more than a flatbottom and you can get lost in a hurry if you are not alert. However, when the run is on you can catch'em till your arms fall off.

FishSaint, after you launch turn immediately right and go about 50 yards. That is where two sloughs meet. You can tell it as the water will be coming from two directions and will meet there. That is a super good place for Sandies. When the river is running good, there is just the right amount of current there.

Good Luck

We had good luck at this spot last year around mid Feb. and also a little further up the slough. We also had good luck at the Shawnee boat landing.

Went to this spot yesterday around noon. As I was going in there was a fisherman coming out and I asked him how he did. He said he fished from 6:30 am till about 11:30 am and caught a total of 4 white bass; one male and three females. He launched his boat and went downstream to near the lake. Said the whites were not up as far as the tram yet in any numbers. Naturally I wanted to confirm his info so I fished the bank near the tram for an hour and a half and caught two 15 inch males and lost 5 or 6 roadrunners. The river is still up but the water is clearing some. Probably be good fishing in a week or two. fish
