Anyone refer me to someone Ft Worth or close who works/repairs hydraulic trailer brakes on bass boat trailers?
Single axle...all there, just not and probably have not been working in long time.
Thanks,
God Bless

Have you checked the brake fluid level?

Yes sir. Holds fluid and checked lines to rear wheels, well I didn't but my mechanic did.
I know Cabelas is Stratos dealer but I'm sure not going there!

He said he would but, would rather not so I respect his wishes.
Yes sir it does and I trust him on his opinions and work for anything with my rig.
If there is someone that routinely does this, perhaps it wouldn't be to expensive or difficult to fix. Not sure who made the trailers for Stratos but, whoever it was I'm sure was done as cheap as possible.
Anyone?
God Bless

I would take the brake line off at the caliper, pump the brake, and see if fluid is being delivered to the caliper.

Cal did that, no fluid to either wheel. Good call. I just can't bend over and get down LOL, would never be able to get back up again.
So, guess it's the actuator at the least. Since don't know how long it has not been working, afraid it probably will require drum honed and new brake shoes as well, and ???
God Bless

Call John at Rockwall Marine. He will take care of you.

Would be a drive, but we'll worth it.

I have an 08 stratos and they are surge. You can pump the brakes and that won't tell you anything. They work off the coupler at the hitch. When the truck slows the coupler compresses and pushes the brake fluid to the wheels, not just from pumping brakes. That's the way I understand it to work.

Sounds right, but I have that 'round' extra connector to the truck and switch for trailer brakes on the Chevy....?? God, you think I would be smart enough to at least figure this out.
I just don't know for sure...
Thanks for your information....

Lee,IMHO with a Silverado and a small boat on a single axle brakes are not really necessary unless you do 80mph down a hill and have to slam on the brakes.I would look into having them disabled rather than fixed. Just an option.

I would tend to agree. Smaller, lighter single axle. That truck won't have a problem braking that trailer/boat. And, those brakes will need to be fixed over & over again. They're going to continue to need repair.
