Anyone looking to join a Kayak Wars team? My 2014 personal stats - 50 catches, My personal 2015 target - hybrids, sand bass, crappie, bass and cats in that priority order with a goal of 100+ catches. Team mates to be active but not to the point its not fun for all. If each log 50+ catches for the year we will finish in the top 5 teams in South Central Division. Prefer freshwater only for tourney. 3 or 4 spots available.

LMK and I will send you team name and info.

Rick

Put a picture of that travel trailer in here. Probably fill those spots in about 10 minutes!!

I'm intrigued....I've been interested in joining a team the last few years, and my goal for this year is trying to spend a bit more time on the water learning to fish some new species. Send me some info and we can discuss and make sure I can spend the tow you're looking for!

How does it work? I'm not familiar at all with kayak wars, and their site only has registration info.

Here are some notes that I posted on one of the DFW Fishing Facebook pages. I personally just like to fish and will not pressure anyone to fish more than they can squeeze into our busy families and commitments. It's really fun to log your catches and see your progress throughout the year.

Anyone looking to join a Kayak Wars team? 2014 personal stats - 50 catches, target - hybrids, sand bass, crappie, bass and cats in that priority order. 2015 goal of 100+ catches. Team mates to be active but not to the point its not fun for all. If each log 50+ catches for the year we will finish in the top 5 teams in South Central Division. Prefer freshwater only for tourney. 3 or 4 spots available.

Tourney format - Online format that allows you to photograph fish on measuring device, upload to website. Multispecies (everything from sunfish to things you never heard of), minimum lengh rules, max quantity of species rules per team (i.e. 20 ea sandbass 12+ inches are 5 points ea per month). Starts on Feb 1st thru Dec 14th. 15 bucks to join a team. Kayakwars.com

I live near Rockwall so I typically fish Cooper & Purtis Creek, BUT this year plan to spend time on Brazos River, Ray Hubbard, Lavon, Bob Sandlin, Fork and Tawokoni and open to other locations.

I don't target anything other than bass (mostly), crappie and sunfish. There are some lakes that have good populations of sand bass, but I never target them. And I hate catfish. So, I'm guessing you are needing people to target all five species.

Also, just noticed you said South Central. I'm in the metroplex, so I'm out anyway.

In KW you can target anything you like to fish for. If you typically go for bass, crappie and sunfish thats good since my slot on the team is targeting other species. Also the south-central division covers several states with Texas being one of them. I'm in the DFW area like a lot of the guys on the forum.

May have myself and a buddy that want to give it a go!

I mainly fish fresh water but I do make a trip or 2 to the coast.

I'd hate to "volunteer" and not pull my weight. How many fish do I need to catch in a year? 100? of each species? Is private water legal?

Swalker (and others), here a few links to give you an idea of typical catches during the year. If you click on an angler's name, you can see the summary of their catches and even browse their catches.

http://www.kayakwars.com/anglerstandings.php

And here are the species and respective points you can catch for your region:

http://www.kayakwars.com/points.php

Yes, any water as long as it is legally fished is eligible.
