Saturday 18th - launch at 2114 bridge and float/fish down to the North Nature Center, camp/spend the night there. (6 miles)

Sunday 19th - launch from North and float/fish down to South for take out. (5 miles)

We could drop our yaks and take our vehicles to South for take out.
(We could pay Dick's for one or more vehicles that would shuttle us back)

Just brainstorming right now but how's it sounding?

HERE is the link to the map of the route.

Sounds like a good outing, any idea on the river conditions on that stretch such as flow levels or rapids and such?

Clink on the link and it contains all of the data for that area. April is my favorite time of year to fish the Brazos.

We're very excited to have Shane come and speak with us about fishing the Brazos.
We are equally excited about doing a two day trip on this section of the river and utilizing the TPWD access points.
I have several friends who have fished this section over the last few months and have caught huge numbers of quality fish of all species.

Camping, kayaking, fishing, a guest speaker or two. All the things that the MSKFC has been doing for well over a year. PLUS, we support Heroes on the Water through generous donations throughout the year.

For those of you with smaller kayaks like me with a 115x how would you pack for a trip like this? Space is obviously a problem so I am curious what kind of a checklist you would put together for those must have items? In the past my overnight river trips have been out of a canoe so weight and space wasn't an issue.

On April 7th we'll have a meeting at Mariner Sails to discuss how and what to pack for an overnight trip.

We'll also have Shane Davies from River Run Guide Service and Tim Birdsong from TPWD Rivers and Streams speaking about fishing the Brazos and the TPWD river access program.

The meeting will start promptly at 7PM and we'll have a couple of styles of yaks packed on display to show how its done.

I'm really excited about this, been wanting to try the Brazos. This will be a perfect introduction for me. Going with people who know what they're doing.

I would love to make this trip! I've got a couple of yaks, so I have options as far as what to take and how to pack. I will see you on the 7th!
