I spent the month of November at Beaver Lake. It was my first time to Beaver Lake and I went with the purpose of fishing for big stripers on top water lures. The first two weeks were very good and I managed to catch 5 from 18lbs to 28lbs on super spooks plus some nice sand bass and hybrid bass. After the big freeze came that dropped the temperature all over America to record lows I didn't do as well. In fact my reel froze up several times. I did learn a lot about the lake and I am going back for the month of April. I have been told that April is the very best month for artificial lures and really big stripers (30lbs to 40lbs). I am renting the same 5 star three bedroom house on the lake that I rented in November and I am bringing my 24ft Champion Bay boat. what part of the lake are you fishing?

I actually fished the whole Lake. I hired a guide named Johnny Gantz for about four days spread out through the month to help me learn the lake. The house I rented is in Monte Ne. This is right in the heart of the April spawning area. My boat has a 275 Verado and a special wind screen I designed.

Sounds like you had a great time! My wife and I went up there in July and she caught a 20 pounder. The lake and it's surroundings are breathtaking!

Would Love to drive up there and fish with you one weekend!

You guys should go. Jim is a great friend. I went last fall when he was there and what a trip. The cabin is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Your wife will love it. I hope to get back there if my schedule will allow it.

Jim is also going to Fort Myers Florida and will be fishing for Tarpon in May and June. This will be on my list also.

My first striper caught my first morning on Beaver Lake. 18lbs caught on a Super Spook. All my fish were caught on top water lures.

I just received a text from the president of the striper club in North West Arkansas. One of his friends caught two 40lb stripers in one morning!

There are stripers by the dam at certain times of the year. When I am going in April they are on the other end of the lake where I have rented a house. Jim

My friend Tony at Beaver Lake. He is president of the Northwest Arkansas Striper Club. Tony will be fishing with us in April and keeping us up to date on what's going on at the lake. This is a fish he caught last week.

I still have a few spots left in mid to late April.

April 2nd to the morning of the 6th and April 10th to the morning of the 16th are still open.

The house I have rented for the month of April has three bedrooms and is one of the most beautiful houses I have ever stayed in. You are welcome to bring your wife or GF. She will love the house and the beautiful area where the house is located. You can take a day trip to Eureka Springs a really neat town on the other end of Beaver Lake.

One month till I will be fishing on Beaver Lake. I still have some spots left. I have designed a wind screen for my Bay Boat that blocks the wind and rain. It folds out of the way for quick accessibility to the front deck. My boat is very comfortable and has electronics front and back. I have a 112 I Pilot on the bow.

Sounds like an awesome trip. I've always wanted to do some striper fishing at Beaver Lake.

Have you caught any walleyes at Beaver? I've heard the walleye population is getting pretty good since they started stocking them a few years back.

I have only fished for big stripers. I don't know much about the walleye fishing at Beaver Lake.

Booked, I am so excited! A buddy and I will be joining Jim for a few days in April. Can't wait,maybe I will finally hook into that elusive 20 lb hawg!
