While fishing Lewisville today we saw plenty of gulls swirling and occasionally dipping. Took this screen shot of what was under them, solid bait but no fish. It's been like that the last 2 weeks. Lewisville is loaded with shad. As you can see, the school comes all the way from the bottom to about 7 feet from the surface.

We've been finding the same thing and a lot of other locations. What we've been finding is that the catfish are pushing the Shad to the surface.

Are those bright returns or dots in the foreground ?

That's exactly what I saw on Hubbard last week. Huge schools of shad but no fish. Dead sticked a slab and caught blue cats.

We did happen to catch one blue cat on a slab. Perhaps those specks are catfish.

saw alot of bait as well, I wish the clear sky would go away and we could have some decent wind not this 30 mph stuff lol I want cloudy and 14mph wind. Is that too much to ask!
