Originally had this titled as a Jackson SUPerfishal thread but have changed it so anyone that owns a sup can answer.

What's the verdict on them? Anyone use one for river camping? How are they with a small child on there with you? Anyone have pics of theirs?

My wife and I need some paddle boards in our life this summer I think and these look interesting.

I'm picking up fly fishing and a SUP would be awesome I think.

Also from pics they look high enough to almost be used like a sit on top kayak when you want to sit. Is this right? Seems like a plus to me.

Those are sweet too.

Is the general consensus that they are better?

If you want to take a passenger, this has a capacity of 400#.
I like the idea of a SUP, especially for certain situations, but I'm not going to spend $1K on a board with a 350# capacity, much less 300# or less.

We're small people so the capacity doesn't bother me too much.

I like the Bote boards with the leaning post also but those real expensive. Not a fan of the surf board thin looking ones.

Pure sexiness here. I think I would puke the first time nasty river sand/mud got on it.

Don't forget about the Diablo Paddlesports Amigo, though I'm not sure what the weight capacity is on that kayak.

Not sure if it's better but it has been on the market longer than the Jackson (about a decade now)

I'm a Jackson fan and have paddled the superfishal. It would work great for a couple small rivers I fish. However the Versa board with the retractable skeg would be my first choice if I bought one. Still have it for tracking but could pull out of the way in lower water dragging situations

I will be getting this SUP soon. Inflatable and portable.

I can definitely see where a SUP could be a great boat. Please buy this one as it has been tempting me for a few days and I really don't need more stuff! smile

I prefer the Jackson over the Native. When I look at the Native I thought looks good but I am going to be standing more than sitting and I worried that I would end up tripping over the seat or foot wells. I like to move and turn while fishing and those foot wells would be the death of me. I also really liked the front storage deck. My only real complaint would be that it does not have any scupper holes. I would like a couple so I could use them to cable lock it in the bad of my truck so it will not get stolen. Sure you can lock it through the handles but those can be removed with a screwdriver.

Here are a few pictures, the Jackson SUPerFISHal is nice due to the fact you can remove the deck and then it is a play board as well, very versatile.
