Great report. This is the first report from the Guadalupie that had pictures of fish. Sounds like you had a fun day.

The only big striper I've heard that are in the Guad are at the spillway downriver. I heard they feed on the smaller trout and these tend to get monstrous! Seen pictures of them. But I wouldn't doubt they are upriver as well.

There are not any boat ramps open up river. You would have to put in at an open ramp on the lake

Here is a list of all the boat ramp closures. The link also has a link that shows a map of all the ramps on canyon. From there you can choose which one you would like to put in at. I would say that ramp #6 is your best bet because it is a county ramp and you do not have to pay. Ramp #1 is also open and is a county ramp. If anyone catches anything please post your pitcures. I would love to see how others are doing. Good luck everyone!! http://www.cceo.org/road/closures.asp

The lake can surprise you sometimes. Other times it slaps you down.
For those thinking about headed out this weekend, we have had 3" of rain so far and its still raining. The river area will get messed up and have floating debris everywhere. It's going to take a few days for it to clean up and become fishable. The lower part of the lake may still be fishable. Maybe.
Tight lines,
FI
I'm a humble fisherman in the service of our Lord. Started fishin at 5 years old and can't stop. I've owned a boat every day from age 16. I fish for every type of fish in every different way.

How many did you catch? And what time of day was it?
How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

It's blurred so I don't give Exact location away! I don't want all you pros going and catching all my fish! Here is another great Guad Catch from yesterday. This thing was a Pot Belly. Definitely feeding on something. OHHH!! That was my lure..

How many did you catch? And what time of day was it? Between my buddy and myself we caught 25 fish. 9 Stripers, 1 Crapie and the rest were whites. The fish were caught all throughout the day.. morning time being the slowest. The water temp was 47Deg warming up to 52. Mind you this is the surface temp not the temp in the lower water column. We went out Tuesday and the river was a mess. Debris everywhere making it extreemly hard to cast without getting some type of junk on your lure or line. River wont be fishable for another week or so I would imagine.
