Why do they have screw loc and shank loc? I would be more interested if they only had the screw loc.

I'll try to answer this one.....I bought these jig heads and LOVE them....they're the best made....the way I use them....sometimes I fish ledges where there is just rock....there, I don't use the screw lock...no need...open hook better hook-up....some of the ledges on the Tennessee River system have other structure, such as timber...sunken boats etc...when I fish those...I use the screw lock....less hang ups....try them...you'll like them......hope that helps....

Thank you for the question. The mold I modified already had the shank on there. I kept it on there for 2 reasons. The first is that it's part of the original weight of the jig head so I can give customers an accurate description of the weight. The second and most important is that it doesn't hurt anything to be on there BUT if the customers want to add a skirt they can do that. We add a skirt to ours part of the time then use the screw lock to hold on a plastic bait such as a brush hog and you have the ultimate weedless jig at that point. Just trying to keep it as versatile as possible for customers. I have a lot of customers that purchase these with the 7/0 hook and use them on swimbaits, it gives the appearance of a bait fish feeding nose down on the bottom.
Thank you for the question and interest.
