Poll is simple. I added the last option to see if people prefer to have both systems in one reel like a few reels offer. I noticed a lot of the top reels only have either/or. So lets see what people prefer.

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

I like both. Then I can really dial it in. Most of my reels only have mags though, but one I have has both. It's a Team Pro. Great reel for the money.

I enjoy using both, but also depend on my thumb quite a bit.

Both is best overall because you can always turn one off.

I'm very surprised at how many people chose "both together" since the most popular reels (Shimano and Abu Garcia) don't offer that. For the "thumb" guys do you actually only use the thumb without setting up the break system? Wouldn't that hinder you if you want to make long casts?

Not once you're trained your thumb. It becomes second nature, and you really don't even think about it.

I chose magnetic, but I've had the most experience with that. The break I have, I've only used a few times.

Abu Garcia's Infini-brake on some of their Revos is a dual BRAKE(Centrifugal & magnetic).
I prefer centrifugal myself.

Fish often relate to "breaks" in the lake bottom.

Brakes are in a reel.
