Man do I love lake Athens. Just look out for the Henderson County Precinct 4 Commissioners house... his drunk of a wife will come out and threaten to shoot you for fishing around their dock. Lol, which house is it, I will be sure to flip under it for sure, hahahaha, then she can have a talk with the GW.

I think for good. Iknow they where trying to sell the place maybe someone will buy the place and open it all back up. Man that sux...it was bad enough when the idiots would party and break beer bottles in the center of the parking lot before with the threat of some one coming in and out, but now it could get worse...

The bait shop has been emptied. A sign on restaurant door says they are closed due to family illness to reopen on 12-20. Time will tell.

To me it makes sense that the bait shop is out of business, no one was ever in there that I saw. I thought the restaurant did pretty well though. Always people eating in there. Some of the guys that fish Athens every day ate in that restaurant every day.

If we want local business to stay in business we need to support them Hate to see the bait store and restaurant potentially close. This holds true for most of mom & pop stores we pass by everyday!
