Most of the time it is due to impact and is covered is the propshaft bent

My State Farm covered it but then cancell my insurance

accidental damage due to impact is covered. Just wearing out from use is not covered. No insurance covers anything from just wearing out. That may be covered by warranty but not insurance.

Most insurances cover it, I had Progressive cover mine, then they cancelled
my policy.

Their argument was I should have know what was underwater...???

Go figure..!

Seaworthy did everything they could not to pay my lower unit claim and they succeeded.Needless to say they have gotten my last penny!

I have has all state for a long time and never filed a claim, hearing all your horror stories about insurance company I am going to go with Bob Landry i think is name is on here. If my lower unit went out at no fault to my won i could not afford to fish it right away.

I had the exact situation. Took my boat to the skeeter dealer and he called and said that line had wrapped round the shaft and damaged the seal, causing the bearing to fail. He took pictures and sent them to Foremost. The paid in less that 24 hours. I asked the dealer when I bought the boat which company paid the easiest and he said Foremost. When I filed the claim they asked a couple questions about the maintenance, it was serviced every spring. They said since it was damaged by underwater object %100 covered less deductible and %3 depreciation per year.
