I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to mount the unit and transducer on a bass raider8 boat. I fish creeks/rivers and I am pretty rough on a trolling motor. So I don't think mounting the transducer to the trolling motor would be good. Is there a way to mount the transducer to minimize damage?

http://www.cabelas.com/product/Portable-Transducer-Bracket/699847.uts

I actually have one brand new in box if you're near Allen and don't want to wait for them to ship in (no one stocks these, special order at bass pro/cabelas)

No discount but no wait. Otherwise I'll just use it. I didn't unbox it because I ended up grabbing a TM mount for my transducer and just zip tie mounting the graph tot he TM head, making it all one mobile unit. Getting rid of my prowler and getting a bigger boat so that graph will end up being TM mount again and be my tiny front graph til I upgrade a long time from now.

$50 and she's yours if you want her, problem solved fish

Nice! Enjoy, took me ages to find, and by then I was already living with my temporary solution so I never unboxed it

I have this same set up on my Bass Raider and haven`t had a problem with the ducer mounted on the troll motor and my troll motor is up front!

Can you post of picture of where you put the transducer? I just bought a buster bass and have no idea where to put my transducer. I will only be using a trolling motor so I'm sure I can install it anywhere, but I'm clueless in what I'm doing.

Put it on the trolling motor.

Bass Pro will sell you the mount.

You can mount it either under the bottom of the transducer, behind the keel, or on the shaft. I mounted mine underneath, and have had NO problems with two different boats and more than 30 years of fishing it that way.

Has anyone used their boat in rough water? I did in like 15 mph wind maybe more but I had a problem with my fish finder. My transducer was going up and down with the boat so I left humps on the screen. Why does it do that? How come I can't get the same nice picture when it's not windy?

I used a modification of this method for my kayak (suction cups from Michael's or Hobby Lobby)

Initially, I made a semi rigid nylon plumbing tubing mount (was going to mount via scupper, but the transducer was just a little too big to sit inside the scupper hole.) So, I used two suction cups secured by zip ties to mount on the side of the kayak. The plumbing tubing stays vertical even at high speeds if you secure a suction cup close to the transducer.

I like this method(no holes, no drilling into the vessel)--you can quickly remove the transducer or change the location, if you are around shallow vegetation/rocks.

If you end up not liking this method, you could easily adapt the plumbing tubing to permanently mount with a hinge so that can be moved up and down into the water.
