Fished Lake Athens on Thanksgiving Day, fished back of creeks early for the first three hours, right after daybreak until
about 10:30,then moved out onto the main lake.
Vegetation everywhere sometimes too much, finally found fish on points and secondary points 8 foot (edge of the grass) 8 ft out to 20 ft. fished weightless sinkos and fries. Find the coon tail and fish slow.
12 fish total , biggest being about 3 pounds.B/B and chartreuse.
Fish it now before they have to kill the grass.
Water crystal clear
Temp 54 to 56
boat ramp perfect
12 # big game

Not a bad day. I was there last Tuesday and the middle of the week before, didn't get a bite. I'm curious about your new 11' boat. Walmart offers a mini bass boat with raised casting deck, live well and ample storage. Is this the kind of boat you have?

I miss that lake, one of my favorites!!!

Fishing is not a matter of life or death,
it's much more important than that!

That sounds pretty cool. I've been daydreaming about getting the one at Wally World. I think it would be perfect for fishing small lakes and ponds. Happy Thanksgiving and good fishing to you.
