The November 1 report got me primed, so I headed up the creek on Friday morning, after the duck hunters had pulled out. My GPS waypoint for the mouth of the creek had been cleared out since my last trip so I did a bit of marsh mushing before I found the creek channel. The duck hunters probably would have shot me if I had done that during their hunt. The wind was cold but the fishing was hot. I brought home some fish for the freezer and left them biting.

That's what I like to see! It does take some effort but I've seldom if ever been disappointed with the Yegua!

Excellent video Greenyak, sorry I missed the fun. Water looks to be up a bit higher than earlier this month.

My paddle-fish-paddle video from Yegua Creek last Friday. No commentary just me and the great outdoors. Crappie and Coots were the featured creatures.

If we get enough rain this weekend it might start the whitebass moving up the creek.

On the following dates in December and January, some areas of the park will be closed....

*The Trailway will be closed on December 13 and 14, 2014 and on January 10,11,13, 14, and 15, 2015.
The closure is for wildlife management activities. Only drawn permitted hunters will be allowed in these areas during these dates. Contact the park for more information.

I called the park and Newmans is open through the long weekend.

Thanks greenyak. I was thinking about hitting the Yegua tomorrow. I might hit Nails instead. Since it is shorter it should clear up faster.
