Friend just blew his 2006 250 Yamy up at Amistad last weekend. He said they are wanting 7800.00 to fix.

The carburated Yamaha"s are the best motors ever built in my mind. I have been in the boat business for 21 years, and have rebuilt a tenth of Yamahas compared to omc or mercurys
Maintenance and bad fuel is the big reason they fail, and broken rings due to carbon build up behind the rings
Bottom line is none of them are fool proof and the all them have there own little issues and we have to hope we get a good one when we buy one.
