Had been reading reports about big white and yellow bass being caught on Lake Fork, and since the freezer was beginning to get a little empty, Jos and I decided to grab a guide and give it a shot. Chose Richie White, and couldn't be happier.

We hit the water at 8:00am, and had consistent action until we left them biting hard at 1:00pm. Richie's handmade slabs did the trick.

The surprise was the large size of the whites and yellows. Yes, there were some little guys, but far more than half were at least keeper size. Very healthy, fat and fought like little freight trains! In this photo, there are a couple of ten inch sandies we kept early on among the yellows that will put into perspective how big the large ones were. Quit keeping fish when it appeared we'd run outa room in the cooler.

I can't imagine how big these pigs will be next year! Nuff said. Here is the video(yes, I know I shoulda given Jos a little lesson about turning her phone sideways, hehehehhhh!)...

Those yellows are good eatin! You may need to invest in a bigger cooler with those tanks.

Until yesterday we had never caught a yellow big enough to clean. I'm basically a CnR guy, but Jos and her family/friends love to eat 'em, so we keep cats, crappie, sunfish and such now and then. She fried some yellows up yesterday, and they were terrific!

Lake is loaded with whites and yellow bass.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.
