I recently bought an Accend 128T from BPS, don't know much about Kayaks, what kind of depth finder do most of you use and how do you mount it?

I have a Lowrance Elite-4 HDI. I don't really use the GPS feature much but thought it would be handy on long river floats. The regular and downscan imaging work nicely, and it's a good size for a kayak. I typically run it in split screen mode, with the two types of sonar side by side.

I bought the YakAttack Ram holder for the unit plus their Ram Pod transducer arm. I found the Ram Pod transducer arm to be a bit bulky and bought the Mad Frog Liberator Micro with a transducer arm. It's sleeker in design and folds up out of the water more easily. I put my battery in a Rubbermaid container with a slit in the top for the wires, that sits up front with my cooler. The whole thing takes a minute to set up or take down.

You will find anything from a $100 unit up to $$$$ on todays Kayaks.
What is your budget, what kind of fishing will you be doing, in what kind of water bodies, how deep
do you want to fish, do you use a particular brand now?

Thanks Guys,
I am new at this, I have never even been in a Kayak till I bought this one about a month ago, I am working in Lake Charles La. Been running baits out and fishing from the beach, but I have found a place to fish fresh water, it is not very deep, but I like to know whats down there. So far I havn't fished out of it at all yet, but I will be very soon

Also run a elite 4hdi. I use the gps chart plotter constantly. I mark a way point whenever I find a good brush pile, ledge, rocks, etc. That way I can find them again easily. Mine is on an Hobie outback, they come setup for the install of the transducer and wiring. Literally only took 10minutes.

I don't always catch fish, but when I do, I prefer Dos Hybrids

Thanks for the heads up on this. Academy had this same setup, for same amount a few weeks ago and I really didn't have the money to get it so I've been kicking myself ever since. Even though I pass a Gander's Mt. on my way home, I am really not a fan so I would not have ever seen this ad otherwise. I just ordered one, so I can now stop kicking myself for missing the one at Academy. Thanks again.
