Thursday at R/R I picked up some at 24' in 30 feet of water. Wind made it a hassle to fish, so I moved to protected areas in 12-18' of water and never got another bite. Was using a blue/char jig.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

I'm hoping to find out tomorrow on GV. Maybe find out on Roberts later this week!

Slip fishing has been good at LL this past week. Not necessarily big numbers, but some good fish being caught. Most fish coming from 8'-14' on smaller jigs. Thermocline jigs on 1/32 oz heads did real well this weekend.

What time of the day are you catching these crappie?

I fished my slip at Joe Pool Marina Thursday, Friday and Sunday afternoons. I only caught one 12" white crappie on Thursday. I did not even get hits on the other two days. I was using jigs and minnows, the only fish was caught on a stationary rod with a double rig of minnows.

The better bite seems to be later in the morning/early afternoon. Both days this weekend it was pretty boring until about 0900 when things would pick up. We're not using minnows so don't know if that would help, but smaller plastics (Thermocline) were the ticket for me with a 1/32 oz head fished 12-14 feet deep. And 'dead sticking' was definately what they wanted.

I haven't been on RR in a while. Usually the bite seemed to pick up around lunch time as of a month ago. Like I said, I need to give it a try now...however my last trip was nil for crappie. Fished brush piles in the 20 FOW range with nothing. Tried both minnows and jigs. Probably haven't figured out the pattern yet, so more due to user error. bang
