First let me assure you I did not even get a chance to drown a fly. The weather was perfect for ducks. Temperature in the high 50s and the continual pelting of rain. I unpacked my gear and made my way carefully(I thought) down to the river. When last seen, my feet and legs were higher than my butt and the rest of me. That red earth gets very slippery when it gets wet. After catching my breath and gathering all my stuff , I made it back to the car. I am planning a return trip when Mother Nature doesn't call for thunderstorms. Have fun out there. Cheers, JP

Ah man! Hope you are ok. But, I think, until you have taken a spill at The Blue, your not in the club. Welcome to the club!

My first trip I made it to the river and actually fished for about 3 hours before I took a dip in the ice cold water, filled my waders which soaked my clothes, and I didn't have a dry set with me.
Didn't catch any fish either, wife laughed at me when she realized I was O.K.
Glad you are OK and maybe will see you on the river sometime this season

My buddy Dan and I were at the Blue yesterday. I had 20 on and landed 11. 2 really nice ones. Dan had 14 on and landed 6. We had to walk a lot and fish hard to get those. Observed several fly fishermen in the Walk In Area slaying the trout at one hole. We fished several different patterns of panther martins to get our fish.

Those butt slides are fun to watch but not so nice when they are unexpected by you. Glad that it was only embarrassing and not hurtful.
