I applaud the man who enjoys vicious. He obviously is very easily pleased and therefor in sure he enjoys life allot better than other who expect their fishing line not to suck

I stopped using fluorocarbon line for anything except leaders on spinning gear. Copolymer line has low stretch, making it sensitive like fluorocarbon, without the problem of breaking. I'm done with fluorocarbon.

Nicecatch start looking hard at your line. If your rod eyes have any imperfections they will fray floro and you'll see little peels on them. I use a couple different floros and every time that I have experienced what you are describing it was a rod eye (usually the top) issue.

I have no dog in this fight nor do I have any complaints about AbrazX or InvizX... I've thrown the 10-25 and haven't had any problems with knots or unusual breakage. As mentioned above, kinks in the line, broken or jagged inserts on the eyes... and just plain fishing will put stress and/or nicks in your fishing line. I'll get a backlash a time or two or three in a fishing day but it's usually not all that bad and I can get it out with out bending the line over on itself and avoid the nicks and line kinks.

Every once in a while I'll make a hell of a bird's nest and it's back to the respooling station I go... Same thing goes for my dad or a select few close friends who get in the boat and use my gear... If it's windy at all I just know that I'm respooling whatever reels they're throwing. It hurts ripping that line off, but it's worse losing a big fish...

InvisX 15 and 20 are the tickets. Fill your spool with 1/3+ mono and then spool the fluro. Get 18-19 reels instead of 10 or 12. Cuts the cost almost in half and your fishing the best fluro out there. Wet the knot good before pulling tight and get any backlash out carefully, don't be jerking on it to get it free or the next cast will be the one with your bait sailing to the trees. Good fishing........

I have experienced the same issues with various flouro lines. Breaking on a cast or while setting the hook is why I pretty much quit using the flouro line. I kink in the line or just a little too much exposure to the sun and the line is worthless. Now,if I do use it, it is only on my reel for the weekend. Mono and braid do everything that I need from a line.

Aaron Martens thoughts:

http://www.bassmaster.com/blog/top-5-reasons-use-braid-fluorocarbon-setup

I am going to go over all my rods as suggested. I think that is a possibility and I need to give my rods some attention this winter, especially for all the money I have invested in them.

Thanks to all who weighed in on this.
