Ez the thread wasn't about how many i managed or how fast i mananged to ketch them sir ,I guess I should explain what is truly legendary about it
the fact that this many crappie stayed still in this large of numbers biting like crazy for this long of a period of time .I have seen some fish over the years hang around and get caught like that , but I never found crappie stacked up and biting that good for that long in one spot

And yes, I have seen crappie bite like that and hang around for hours biting like that. It was in the 80's, at Pat Cleburne at the dam.

And when I fished Fork back then I would tie up to certain bridge pillars and then spend the entire day at the one spot catching crappie and bluegill. I did not catch the crappie in the numbers you did but I would catch a hundred or more during a day. I had no problem culling a limit each time I fished there plus I would catch an ice chest full of blue gill for a neigbhor who preferred them over any other fish.

yes sir mister EZ a few hundred in one spot over 6 to 8 hours no biggy
done that a a bunch a times for sure at night on fork when the opened the lake
and ray Roberts as well many moons ago at night as well
but a daylight bite fast as a sandy run in the daylight ?

I don't ...but some do ....read up at the TPW website on the DFW consumption advisory list would be my suggestion

I guess u could,cuzz they put them trouts n there for people to catch down the river ware u be catchn' them crapies.

Ketchn thank you for the information in your post and photos of your outing. You deserve to hit a jackpot like that as your persistence paid you back in volume. Thank you again for scouting an area and providing that information to a community forum for others to use. You undoubtedly confirmed there are some sows in that river and numbers to boot.

Hello my friend, how long are those crappie?

went to mr.ketchn's honey hole yesterday mornin,fished for 45 min. not even a nibble,he had 2 homeless guys gaurding it!!

Which was was the turtle pointing? ........ did you follow his point lead?

I just photo em and pitch em back
don't weigh or measure or any of that stuff much anyway
largest fish were prolly over 15
lots of them in the 13 to 14 range that day
