Myself and Mike "USMC_GY" fished the Guadalupe River and we got into some pretty nice fish. Caught a bunch of fish staging by brush piles in 14 to 18 feet of water. Jigs (red/green in color) were the bait of choice. Other than the cold wind the weather was not that bad. A few were kept for the frying pan. After a day on the water we headed to the El Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in New Braunfles for a super good Mexican dinner. Catching some nice Crappie and eating some great Mexican Food. It just don't get any better.

Those are some nice ones BAF. But ya really didn't have ta show din din with um... A cold beer woulda gone good with it though. Oh yea, they should be releasing some trout before long....

Thanks "Jig Man" for the reply! Yes Sir a Cold beer would have gone super good with the Burrito however a tall glass of ice water and a hot cup of coffee went well also. Also you are right some trout stockings on the upper Guadalupe are in order next month.

I looked and they cut Cedar Hill State Park down to one stocking of 1200 trout this year. Given you often had to wait in line last year just to get a fishing spot there I guess I won't get any trout this year.

How hard is it to get a wheelchair back to the New Braunfels Canyon Tailrace? I see that area is getting multiple stockings, with a total of 17,750 trout.

I cleaned out a chest freezer to make room for deer meat. Found a package of crappie from ??? Looked good so I cooked it. Taste ok but sure wasn't going to waste it. We will have to connect sometime.
