Fishing a jerkbait is new to me, I ordered several blanks to paint last night and am trying to get some ideas of what colors or patterns might be productive. Do you like ghost patters over solid paint? Different at different times? Thanks for any feedback.

Rapala makes some great jerk baits. Shad rap in clown color has worked really well for me. They cast a mile and suspend perfectly. Caught some nice ones on this bait

Rapala makes some great jerk baits. Shad rap in clown color has worked really well for me. They cast a mile and suspend perfectly. Caught some nice ones on this bait

2 different colors for TX:
1. clear/ghost minnow shad
2. a chrome sided bad whether it be clown or a chrome/blue back.
The only other color I have in my box is a perch for when I'm up north on smallies.

Thanks guys, that gives me some ideas. Now if I can get them laid down on the baits that will be the real test. Oh then I gotta trick some fish into biting them.

show us when you're done! I'm curious what they end up looking like, I've always wanted to get into painting, in fact, I have a bunch of plugs I've bought up cheap with ugly paint jobs, that I want to change...

I keep it simple myself.
I like silver, chrome/blue in clear water situations, and then gold, or chartreuse type color in stained water. I will sometimes use the gold in both.

Primarily shad color and occasionally gold/silver
