The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our annual Championship tournament November 8 and 9 on Richland Chambers. The payouts for this no entry fee tournament is from money collected from memberships and entry fees throughout the regular season. 25 boats qualified but only 19 were able to make it out to fish with us. Practice for the tournament went really well for most teams and big bags were expected at the tournament. Then Mother Nature reared her head. A big cold front along with a strong cold north wind greeted us on Saturday and made the fishing extremely tough on Day 1. Then Sunday dawned with blue bird skies and almost no wind after a cold front. Not exactly perfect conditions. Fishing was very tough for almost everyone. Coming from way back after day 1 to win were long time RHBC veterans Vince Burt and Mark Werner with a 2 day total of 17.78 pounds. Here are the full results and pictures from both days.



Chambers was almost 10 feet low and launching and recovering boats was a test of patience. We were lucky Oak Cove had dredged the ramp area recently so we still had enough water to get on the lake.



Eric and Evan Vidal had 2 for 3.32 on day 1.



Preston Smith and David Horton had 2 for 3.70 on the first day.



Jeff Cartwright and Mitchel Bailey had 1 for 1.83 on day 1 and followed a theme of a few teams getting that bite in the last 30 minutes of the day



We fished until 4:00 on Saturday and my partner caught this fish at 3:35. Our only keeper for Saturday weighed 3.33



Matt Pryor and Richard Cisnero had 2 fish on Saturday but they weighed 6.86.



Tim Havins and Josh Mulkey had only one on Saturday but it was a 4.20 chunk.



Gary Anderson and Justin Garrett had 3 for 6.85 on Day 1. This was key to their second place finish overall.



Eventual winners Vince and Mark had a great attitude about their 1 for 2.21 after Saturday.

Travis Reaves fishing with 2014 AOY Jason Hunnicutt had 2 for 5.68 that included a 4.40.



Kenny and Howard Bunch had 3 for 6.28 on the first day. here's Kenny making sure one measures.



Gary Lee and Brian Brooks had big bass of Day 1 with a 5.43 beast.



In third place after day 1 fishing solo was Tony Climer Jr. with 3 for 9.55.



In second place Saturday were Jack and Fly Scheel with 4 for 10.51 that included a 4.81.



Leading after the first day were Tommy and Tony Climer with the only limit of the day. 5 for 12.42.



Day 2 weigh in and I spring my trap. I have Mark, Vince and Tommy trapped against a boat and force them to listen to my fish story.

Ed and Tyler Han had a good one on Day 2 with a 3.58



Russel Olds and Matt Jackson got one to the scales on Sunday and it was a solid 4.46. Thanks to Matt and Russell for an awesome job as TD's this year!



Kenny and Howard Bunch got just this one on Sunday but it got them to an 8th place overall finish.



Sunday was a rally day for several teams including Eric and Evan Vidal who caught 4 for 8.23 and finished 6th overall.



David Mulkey and I rallied as well. We only had 3 keepers but they weighed 12.86 and included big bass of the tournament, a 6.52 That got us a third place finish overall with 16.19 pounds



Justin Garrett and Gary Anderson finished off a great year with a 5 fish limit for 10.81 that got them a second place overall finish with 17.66 pounds



The comeback kids! Vince Burt and Mark Werner had a great Day 2 with 5 for 15.57 and included a 4.85. That moved them to the top spot with 17.78 pounds. Congratulations guys. Couldn't happen to two better people.

When will RHBC release the 2015 schedule?

The lakes have been selected. The Scheduling committee will be meeting on December 6th to make the actual schedule. We will post it on the web site and here on TFF that day.
