My wife and I along with our 6 month old are planing a trip to Galveston after Thanksgiving. We have a room booked on the sea wall and got day passes to moody gardens and plan a drive out to the state park. But we need a good seafood place and other things to do. Thanks for any advice!

We usually take the ferry over to Crystal Beach and eat at the Stingaree. Also, we have enjoyed Benno's and Saltwater Grill. It has been a little while since we were down there, so things may have changed, but they were good last time we went.

Shrimp N Stuff is good. It's a couple of blocks off the seawall. 39th@O I think.
Big portions of fried seafood and a lot cheaper than the seawall restaurants.
A lot of locals eat here.

Landry's is good also. There is an italian mom & pop spot that is located in an older neighborhood that is good also, but dont remember the name of it.

All I can say is your are brave. I have a 7 month old and want to go so bad down there, but are waiting until next summer. Just so hard to travel with a little one and keep Momma happy.

Don't miss La Kings on The Strand and Shrimp & Stuff as mentioned above. Shrimp & Stuff has a 2nd location off The Strand but we didn't know and went to the original.

If you like Cajun cookin',Leo's is the place. Nothing fancy here but the locals eat here by the carloads. So does the local law enforcement dudes. Restaurant is very clean, selection is huge, and grab some of their incredible jerky for the road.

I will be down there last of April first of May. We usually go to Tortuga's Mexican Restaurant when we get down there for their lethal margarita's then it is seafood the rest of the time. We have a couple of places we always go to but I can't remember the names but will let you know how it is with more info when I get back.
