I need new batteries in the boat. I currently have Calelas AGM and want suggestions of other maintenance free batteries you have used with good success. I like the Cabelas ones but they are $239 each and I need 3.
I never had good luck with Interstate, so those are out. Maybe Optima, but those are expensive also.

Optima are not what they use to be have had to warranty several in the past few years and last set made it 2.5 years not worth the cost to me. So I went back to lead cell. Plus optima price is right up there with the Cabelas batteries. This is just my opinion but sure there will be some die hard optima folks chime in.

trojan batteries.....imo best out there, we run them in our work golf carts and they take a beating.....the two sets i have had lasted 5-6 years at least, sold the boats before the batteries went out. used them on trolling motor only lakes and would last all day, never had any problems.....about the same price range...

I'll be the Die Hard guy. Spend the money you will not regret it. I got tired of messing with batteries every 18 months so I put 4 of them in my boat over 3 years ago and not had any issues.

Does no one use WalMart batteries any more ?? I know the warranty is not to good anymore ,,BUT I would be running Walmart batteries if they would not have quit making a group 31. I'm thinking about getting mine from academy they have a group 31 2 year warranty for 180 each I believe.

Trojan SCS225... I have had good luck with them. They are priced all over the place depending on who you call. Go to their website and look for dealers within 100 miles of you and start calling.
My dealer is 75 miles away but priced at $165 each. Good customer service as well.
Would go with Sears Platinum also but they can run about $300 a piece.
Good Luck.

I use Walmart group 27 deep cycle[2] and 24 marine starting. Got 5 years + [they were still good - holding a 100% charge, etc.] out of them before replacing with new ones.
