The BIG POND has been good to me so I though I would take a little time to post...On my recent trips we have had some great topwater action at least for the first hour or so. After the sun comes up we have been working shallow water with cocomoes (Moestackle paddletail) sometimes you will find a good concentration of fish some days you have to grind it out.One day I did pull the slabs out to find fish in 15 to 20 ft on structure, and we slabed up a few.I have not seen it but on the cooler days there have been some birds pointing the way . Saturday the temp is suppose to drop to about the low 30's in the AM.I am sure that is going to tell the fish to put on the old feed bag. Here are some pics. Top water all day long... Paul , and Beverly caught their limit.and then some. Mike got in on the action after enjoying watching Logan, his 7 year old Grandson catch one after another on topwater.

Why are those fish really thin? Species Fisherman, My best answer is the water temps/ low water has played a big part.Alot of bait died last winter. With low , and hot water this summer the fish have been deep, and have not been able to find ,or waste the energy to find food. Second best answer is listen to your guide. Some of the shorter fish have had alot more meat on them.(Keep the shorter fat fish release the longer skinny fish to fatten up)I have released a lot of both.
