I live about 5 minutes from White Rock Lake in Dallas and have ridden bikes and run around it for years. Always wondered about fishing it. Now I have a kayak I am putting more thought into going some. I went for the first time a few weeks ago and caught one small bass on a square bill on the east side near the Corinthian sailing club but that was it.

Anyone been lately or have some ideas of spots to try?

I may go out Sunday morning.

I live on the other side of town, so I don't get over to WRL as much as I'd like, but I really enjoy paddling/fishing it. My luck has seemed to be seasonal there, more so than most places. I've had my best luck late winter through late spring. Bite (for me) has seemed to really die off in the heat of the summer, and have to admit, I don't think I've ever fished it in the fall.

Always seem to have my best luck on the west side, launching from the boat ramp near the old pump house.

There are some on here who live very near the lake and can probably give you much better info than I can.
