what do is get a 5gallon pucker fill it a little more the half full with grain i add a can of beer or yeast. fill the bucket till the water wish a bout 4in above the grain. let it sit over night with the lid loose check in it the mooring re fill the water to a few inches above the grain the grain will suck up most of the water. place the lid on but not tight and place were you wont spell it for a bit. in the is cold it could take a while to sour up. I keep a bout 8 bucks on my back porch at all times. what are you using for bait. My new dough bait works very well. for this kind of fishing. Its all i do anymore.

What grain do you use? I have tried hen scratch and it works okay, just wondering if there are better choices.

Milo, get it at feed stores. Don't over fill a five gallon bucket or it will run over when it swells. I usually put about a third of a five gallon bucket, then cover it with water about 3-4 inches over the top of the milo. Check it in a couple of days to be sure there is still water over it. With the cooler weather, it may take two weeks to be soured.
Don't over feed when you use it. I throw about a cup out and then wait. Sometimes I will feed several spots then return to the first spot and fish, move on if nothing bites.

Put the bucket in a black trash bag in the sun and it will sour faster.
