Geez, I don't know what to say, other than it was frustrating.

Fish were easy to find but, they didn't want to feed. I don't think I ever have stayed at one spot for a hour just to catch a few. I know could see a wad of fish down there, they just weren't very active I guess.

All fish were caught in 18 FOW.

Now you know CW.

Nice catch Kirk. The fish were so inactive on CC last weekend T. Dub and I were catching them by snagging them in the gills and tails. It was crazy! The fish were swimming by and just bumping the jig so we started to just set the hook at any time we felt anything. I could see honestly over 50 fish a pile and we managed a total of 15 keepers for the day. It was terrible. Hope they start feeding soon.

Yes sir it was frustrating.

It was one of those days where you had to have 100% confidence in your electronics; it was satisfying when you could pick off the single fish you were targeting.

One can only assume that T Dub caught all of fish again on CC or did he let you catch one this time?

Nice job Kirk. Your bad days are better than our good days! cheers

I won 9-7 this time (for a grand total of 38). One keeper had the ick, so it didn't make the return trip. Tough bite, but the wind was unusually calm. We sunk brush that morning, and saw a guy fishing it when we were headed back in that afternoon! loco

Dutch, I know you are going to think I am nuts or I am telling you a fish tail.

This is what I have found (besides crappie are crazy) to be true on special days. You have to find that magic depth, regardless of what end or side of the lake you are fishing. It seems that the magic depth will produce at each place, wherever you are at on the lake. Yesterday it was 18 foot down + or 1 inch! (By the way I count out line to my 1st eye on rod, it may have been 17' 9"). I am sure confidence plays a big roll in it also, besides that is the only depth I fished basically, once I figured them out. Well thats my story anyhow.

I think they may be some proof in that Fish Tail I just told you, by looking at the screen shots you posted, fish seemed to be thickest around that 18 foot depth. I am sure you fished that 18 foot depth but, wonder if 6 higher or 6 lower would have made a difference?????????

The good news is you found some fish, by next Wednesday they will be on fire and limits will be a breeze again.

Personally, I like those kinds of days because that's the point where "I think" I'm learning something. One trick I learned this summer was from a bass fisherman of all people. He turned me on to some stuff called slabslobber. Believe it or not, he buys 6 at a time and puts it in a small plastic tupperware sealable bowl and dips his whole bait in it. He's a serious tournament guy. Now, more than once I've seen the fish on the DI, spray on some juice, and catch a few. Its not the difference between catching zero and catching 50, but I think the extra shad stink adds a couple fish to the creel. I've never had any faith in attractants other than they might make a fish hold the bait for a split second longer, but I would bet slabslobber works.
