Anybody having luck on eagle mountain lately? The bass must still be deep. I have had a hard time lately getting them to bite. I would think the bass would be getting ready for the winter and gorging on minnows. Crazy to be 90 at end of October though.

No ramp. My boat is on the lake from marina. I can't get out even if I wanted to.

Not a lot of help but, sounds like lots are having a pretty tough time right now.
Barometric conditions, lack of rain, unusually hot, really messed up seasons this year. All seems to add up to some tough fishing.
Seems like most are awaiting the coming 'cold front(s)' to generate some change.
Fish? There are still a lot shallow and then some report seeing them 10' to 15' deep.
Not much help.....
Others I'm sure will chime in on what baits.....seems spinner baits/deep divers i.e., DD22 type, early mornings - top water stuff, frogs/yellow magic/Pop-R's/ etc.
Good luck...

I think it will be on in latter nov and December once the cold comes in. We have had irregular hot sept and oct. The bass will need to feed for the winter or perish. Once the cold hits my guess it will turn on. EM will have low pressure do to ramp closures. I am thinking that late November will be the normal oct feeding conditions.

Not sure be hard for me to get to the north end of the lake. I only go as far north as EM marina these days. Keeps me busy for now. See how long it lasts with the lower levels.

Have caught 4 fish in the last 2 weeks from 4-0 to 6-3 plus a bunch of dinks and the occasional 2 lber. Some days active and then like this morning I got 2 bites-- a 2 1/2 and a dink. Seem to be coming a bit more now to the shallow water. Think this cold weather will tend to improve it a lot.

Been catching everything on soft plastics. Can't even remember the last time I put a crank bait rod in the boat. Getting way to old to chunk and wind all day. LOL fish cheers

I understand. I been throwing a small square bill on rocky rip rap and caught a few good ones over last couple weeks but it has been tough. I think cold will get them eating for winter.

When it gets tough like this I revert to finesse fishing. I am a yankee so I am used to fishing 8 pound test with smaller baits in gin clear water... It seems to do the trick down here when the fishing gets tough... Of, that and slooooooowwwwwwww wayyyyyyy down... You know that box of [censored] in your garage that you walk by every day until one day you just get tired of looking at it.. well... leave the bait there long enough the bass will get tired of looking at it. It is the only thing that has worked for me.
