Hey Guys, I am pretty new to fishing and I just bought my first boat yesterday. I live near lake ray roberts so that will be my home lake. Any tips and pointers for fishing, the lake, or boating would be greatly appreciated! Cant wait to get on the lake for the first time this weekend! welcome young gun!! so many of us started out in a tin boat. theyre pretty forgiving and can get in some places that a big glass boat can't. roberts is a great fishery but like all lakes in the area, its low. that means that there are many more hazards lurking just under the surface than normal. when in doubt about what your driving over.....IDLE. you should be fine out in the main lake but be careful when you go up into the shallows. this is a great time of year to be getting out on the water. weather's great and the fish will be fattening up for the winter. go online and look up old episodes of honey hole. he has done several shows on roberts that will be helpful. keep the questions coming and enjoy your time on the water....and get your allowance increased so you can buy all the stuff that youre gonna want.
