Austin was good until the grass was eaten out. Still some big ones out there just harder to catch

These polls are always about 2 years behind!

However Lake Austin still has lots of hawgs in it, but I expect the loss of all its grass will take its toll in time!

Austin still has the trophies in there, you just gotta find em'. However, having fished both (Austin numerous times) lakes, Fork is better. IMO

City of Austin paid for that article to get more people to fish lake Austin.

If anyone gave a flying turd what fisherman thought and wanted lake Austin would still have grass. But it's all about keeping lake Austin's rich homeowners happy. The city couldn't care less about us fishing same with TPWD for the most part

These rankings never make much sense to me. I've fished some of these lakes-some are ranked too low
IMO and some don't even deserve to be on the list.

I fish Austin 60 plus days a year an hour from my house. There is a very good reason I drive 4 hours to fish Fork. Especially now that the grass is gone. In addition how cool is fishing all day and not having to deal with one wake board boat?
