Hi all. I'm on pines for a few days and my 898 si won't recognize my sonar or side imaging transducers or it acts like it doesn't it starts up and shows depths like 878 feet and the sonar won't scroll across the screen. I checked the connections and it seems to be good. Any ideas? I'm on a phone so spelling might be off.

I also reset factory defaults and went to the status page. Is there a way to force a reset or something similar?

Man, I'm not expert....but, have you checked and re-checked your power connections?
I've read that on here before....
Other than reset....I'm at a loss too and I OWN 2 HB units on my rig

I didn't bring my tester with me to the lake. Will anyone be on pines tomorrow that an plug my unit into their connections to test? I may get a voltage tester if I go to town tomorrow.

Go to the menu and find SET TO Default. That will take care of the problem most likely.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did reset to default under the menu. That didn't help unfortunately.

It sounds like your are running two separate transducers. If you are might need to check your splitter cable and the connections. Just plug either transducer straight to the unit to test

Make sure your transducer is still level. I bumped a stump with my old boat and it started doing some wacky stuff and my transducer was aimed at the motor. Releveled it and it went back to working right. Make sure you have good grounds also.

The unit now sees the transducers most of the time. I had some little plastic dental floss things and used the pick end to clean the female fittings on the unit where the cables plug. I don't know if that had anything to do with it starting to work? If it starts acting up again I'll check the transducer and the splitter cable.

Oh the joys of expensive electronics.

Someone told me to spray a small amount of wd 40 in the female fittings but I don't think that's a good idea. Anyone done that?

Check the bass boat central threads, you can post a question there, I got answers quickly that way.
