I was away from TFF until recently. I used to check it several times a day because there were new fishing reports being posted constantly. Now there are only a couple a day. Did everyone quit fishing?

Happens every September and into the Fall.....School starts, Football Games on Friday and Saturday, Hunting Season kicks in, Lake Conditions low as they have been since last Fall, and fishing is left to the diehards. I saw five trailers in the parking lot on a wonderful Fall Saturday today, and one other boat where we fished for five hours. On a weekday, I may not see another boat on our 45,000 acre lake. It just doesn't get much better than the Fall! smile

I'll post if I catch something worth talking about. Once the water hit 80 deg fishing went downhill for me. It's still tough at PK as far as I can see. I haven't caught a legal striper in a month. Things got so bad I kept a 19 inch black bass and blackened it for a guest that wanted blackened fish for dinner as I was out of striper.

I have been keeping quiet about the fishing, it has been hit or miss and too dependant on conditions, clouds, chop and ambient light.

I think some of the regulars tired of some of the inane questions that were asked and some of the people that were trying to answer them.

It seems as if you can go from "what lure should I use" to expert in a couple of weeks.

That said, Dennis does a great job of keeping folks informed of what is going on here at Cedar Creek, his style and mine are quite different but I think we have both tried to help folks any way that we can.

I caught 6 hybrids this morning, 3 short and 3 legal, no surfacing activity in the area that I fished, 71° water temp with clarity as clear as it gets here. Plenty of wind this morning.

Cedar Creek is 6' low, be careful running around and take your time unloading and loading your boat. Be courteous at the ramp and turn your lights off so the person backing down the ramp can see.

Be especially careful backing up to let folks go around you.

bang

It ain't easy making it look easy.

I have been doing pretty good myself, I am just posting on Facebook and on my Youtube Channel.

There are some great fishing groups on FB... GULF COAST SURF FISHING & OUTDOORS, American Bowfishing, 361 Fishing, etc...

It is typical on here in the fall. Second best fishing of the year(winter is tops for me), and peoples attention goes to school activities including football, then the college alma maters play every saturday, and the good ole NFL on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays. Summer vegetable gardens now dead need to to be turned over, worked, and prepped for spring gardens and or flower beds, The "Honey do lists" seem to grow larger in the fall than any other time of the year. So now is the time to go out to your local lake, creek or pond, and clean up, having a huge lake, a fish choked creek, or a red hot pond virtually to yourself!

To me that is awesome!

Rudy
