Cool video of a Jackson Kraken being built for one of their reps from the U.K.

Religion is a guy in church thinking about fishing. Relationship is a guy fishing thinking about God!

Good video, but the comments on the video are insane. The whole time I was watching I was thinking how many do they have to sell just to pay for the mold not including the oven and all the other equipment and tools. Research and development to make the mold can be a very expensive trial and error. Labor costs and limited production unless they invested in many ovens and additional equipment. After watching the video and seeing all the equipment a kayak is a bargain.

My personal best is still swimming out there just getting bigger. One of these days I will quit feeding it.

Cool video I work in plastics, running a high speed blow molder for plastic soda bottles, and just for an idea of cost my machine has 24 mold sets each costing in the range of $30,000. The machine itself cost around 2 million. That said the machine will make about 50,000 bottles an hour and about 500,000 to 600,000 in a 12hr shift. Thats a little different process than it takes to make a kayak though. But yes a kayak is a bargain when you weigh the production cost.

Oh and each 24 mold set is for just one bottle design. We run several different designs so thats 24 molds for one. Its a lot a money.

Neat. I am lucky enough to have seen the raptor sot from a sketch to real life boat via email. Its amazing how its.done and how long a process it is just to get to the point where you have a mold to pour plastic into. Way cool.

That video was pretty cool. I like the personal touch of the hand print. Opens up the endless designs you could put on one.
