Has anyone been fishing on Lake Bardwell? I can't find any sort of report on here. I'm fishing it tonight but have no clue where to go. Probably going to play it safe and fish the bridge unless i hear of a better idea. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

I fished the bridge a month ago from my kayak and posted a report in the kayak forum. The crappie were puny but the bass was big.

Hey Bud, what were you doing on Bardwell?
Matt and I fished the marina dock early last spring, a couple of times. Fish can be found inside the fishing dock and all around it. We only caught dinks and not a lot of them but, it beat sitting at home, trying to stay warm.
The new owners are a super nice young couple that are really trying to provide anything a crappieaholic could ever want. Give them your bidness if you get over that way.

Bob, I used to fish that Bardwell bridge often. When I lived in far south Arlington, it was about a 40 mile drive, and had lots of crappie most of the year, though some trips, I did tend to just catch lots of small fish. I used to get some nice ones in the fall, but hadn't fished there in several years, so I just took my kayak over there one day last month.

So, how did you do? You can be the one to write a recent report on the lake's crappie fishing. banana

It was September 21st, so not very recent. It was still hot then. I caught a lot of fish, including 10 keepers, but nothing very big. They were just 10 and 11 inch fish. They were 7 to 9 feet deep then, and went for an electric chicken 'Lil Fry on both a 1/16 and 1/8 oz jig head. The inside edge of the pilings has always been the best spot for me on that bridge, and I've always caught more on the pilings on the east half of the bridge. The spot where the bottom starts dropping off from 11-12 feet to 16-17 feet is often the best spot. Someone has marked one of the pilings "Sweet 16" in that spot.

There's your Bardwell bridge report. That's all I got.
